Recycling

UNM Recycling is an efficient and responsive service organization. The primary goal is to consolidate and support the ever-expanding solid waste reduction efforts of the University community. Working together to improve sort quality, the community is able to maximize diversion (reported annually to the New Mexico Environment Department) and reduce any impact on the municipal landfill.

UNM Recycling ensures ready access to recycling for students, faculty, staff, and visitors, serving over 1400 regularly scheduled collection points found in as many as 174 buildings, as well as many of the campus’ public spaces. Service for special events are available upon request and, as an additional convenience, drop-off service is located at the UNM Recycling Yard (north campus).

Please contact the UNM Recycling Supervisor at 277-0842 or recycle@unm.edu if you have any questions about recycling at the University of New Mexico.
