Lobo Gardens

Lobo Gardens was first established in 2010 and serves as an outdoor learning laboratory for UNM students. The objective of Lobo Gardens is to provide UNM students, faculty, and staff with opportunities for education in the practices and health benefits of growing food in sustainable ways. Lobo Gardens is a site for graduate, undergraduate, and community research and projects.

A satellite garden, the Hokona Hall garden, is located in a planter in Hokona’s western courtyard. Students converted the planter, formerly a fountain, into a culinary, medicinal, and tea garden.

In addition, Chicana/o/x Studies started Jardín-Ollin in 2024 as an additional garden on campus that provides an immersive and experiential learning space that centers culturally significant crops.
