New Mexico Executive Order 2006-001 requires all new state buildings and remodels over 15,000 square feet to be built to U.S. Green Building Council LEED Silver certification or above, which provides substantial savings in energy use and lifecycle building costs over time.
UNM Facilities Design & Construction, the Health Sciences Center’s (HSC’s) Capital Projects office, and UNM Hospital’s Planning & Construction Office plan, design, renovate, and construct the physical spaces across UNM’s campuses and ensure new construction and renovations meet LEED standards. UNM Facilities Management’s Engineering & Energy Services provides building commissioning on LEED buildings.
